Church Front

We are “a church on the move, sharing the light of Christ.”

We offer a variety of worship experiences to accommodate different age groups and preferences, each centered upon Christ and our Communion with Him.
Sunday, 8:15 a.m. – a shorter Rite II service and Eucharist without any music
Sunday, 10:30 a.m. – a more traditional Rite II service and Eucharist with Choral and/or Bell choirs and organ
Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. – a Healing Eucharist service, often followed by a potluck/program educational opportunity
Saturday, 5:00 p.m. – a casual Rite II service with more contemporary music and different instrumentation
Our Saturday evening 5:00 p.m. service features a more contemporary music program with electronic keyboards, an occasional violin or guitar, and rich harmonies for our congregational sing-a-longs. Our Saturday Music Director, Dennis Kinzler, is always looking for new vocal or instrumental talent.

Our Bell Choir with former director, Maurice Thompson

Our choral choir leads the music at our 10:30 a.m. service each Sunday morning with traditional hymns and frequent special music incorporating additional instruments with our digital pipe organ. Our bell choir presents an anthem monthly and for other special services. Our Sunday Acting Music Director, Pat Sproull, welcomes all those who like to “pray twice” through song.

Christian Formation

Adult Christian Formation
Adult Sunday Class: Sundays, 9:30 am, Parish Hall
Do you ever feel like you are a follower of Jesus, but from a distance? Come join Father Keith in the Parish Hall as he explores what it really means to follow Jesus. Using a series by Ray Vander Laan, we will begin to understand the ancient Jewish proverb,” Follow a rabbi, drink in his words, and be covered in the dust of his feet. That is to, encourage disciples to follow right on the heels of their teacher Jesus. In this powerful DVD study, journey with Ray on-location to Israel and Turkey. Discover the first-century practice of a Jewish rabbi and his disciples (“talmidim”), and gain new insight into the message of Christ.

Adult Lectionary: Sundays, 9:30 am, Education Building

Meets in 1st room on the left in the Education Building to read and discuss the Sunday Lectionary readings for the following week — that is, we read a week ahead. We begin with the collect for the day and take turns reading one of the lessons. Then the convener leads the discussion of that reading with everybody participating. We go on to read the next lesson and so on until we have read and discussed as much of each reading as time allows. We close with the prayer for the day.

Holy Trinity By the Lake

  • Stewardship 2016stewardship

    Dearest  Parisioners

Not long ago we were earnestly praying and searching for a new Rector that would (1) attract new members, (2) make Holy Trinity by the Lake more relevant in our community, (3) increase community outreach, and (4) provide parishioners with much needed pastoral care.  These were the prayers and expectations based on the completed 2013 Parish Survey.

Our prayers and expectations continue to become realities. The Lord graciously responded by leading us to call Father Keith Turbeville. Working together with parishioners, Heads of Ministries, and Vestry, Fr. Keith has set into motion a series of actions and strategic plans for Holy Trinity by the Lake. During the past two years since arrival, your church membership has increased by 75% to over 400 members. Participation in Sunday Christian education programs has tripled to a current level of 40 Adults and 40 Youth. Community Outreach has more than doubled to a current year Budget of $12,000. Our Parish Hall has been enhanced at the expense of over $80,000. We truly have become transformed, and are living into our calling of being “A church on the move, Sharing The Light of Christ:”

Our congregation is rich in faith, in love, in joyous life experience and has always cared for the well being of one another as well as the world outside our walls. We understand that God’s blessings to us as His stewards are boundless, so whatever we are able to return to our church in the furtherance of His mission will determine what more He can entrust to each of us in that effort now and in the future. If you would like to make a pledge for 2016 you can download and print out the pledge card, fill it out and place it in the offering plate.   Pledge cards are also available in the pews and in the narthex.
